Who this policy covers

This policy explains what personal data Romantic Star HK collects, why we collect it, who can see it and how you can have it corrected or deleted. It covers visitors, people with an account, women who place a profile and anyone who writes to us. We handle personal data in line with the data protection principles of Hong Kong's Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance. The rules for using the site are in the terms of use.

What we collect and why

• Account data: your name, your email address and your password, which is stored in hashed form, so that you can log in.
• Profile data: the photos, clips, details, rates and services a woman places in her listing, so that we can publish it, and the phone, WhatsApp or Telegram she gives our team, which are never published.
• Verification data: the identity document and the video a woman shows our team, so that we can check her identity, her age and that she matches her photos.
• Messages to our manager: the name, the contact and the message you send, together with the page you wrote from and your IP address, so that the manager can answer you, arrange the meeting and keep spam out.
• Reviews: the name, rating and text you write, so that other clients can read them after our check, and, if you are logged in, the link to your account, so that you can follow the review in My space.
• Help requests about a listing: the topic, the message and an optional reply contact, sent with your account email and listing number, so that our team can fix the problem.
• Reports and removal requests: your name, your email and the details you give, so that we can deal with the request.
• Technical data: IP addresses and browser data in server logs, so that we can keep the site secure.

What we do not do with your data

• We do not sell or rent personal data to anyone.
• We do not use advertising trackers or third-party advertising cookies.
• We do not take payments, so we never hold card or bank details.
• We never publish identity documents or verification videos.

Who else can see your data

• Everyone visiting the site sees published profiles and approved reviews, with the name the reviewer typed.
• Our team and our manager see the messages you send to us, the verification data and the requests you send.
• Telegram delivers the messages from our contact forms and the help requests about listings to our team.
• Our hosting provider runs the servers that store the site's data.
• Authorities receive data only when the law requires us to provide it.

Cookies

The site uses only the cookies it needs to work:

• a session cookie that keeps the site working while you browse and keeps you logged in; it expires after two hours without activity;
• a security cookie that protects the forms on the site;
• a login cookie, only if you tick “Stay logged in on this device” when you log in, so that you stay logged in until you log out.

You can block cookies in your browser, but logging in and sending forms will then not work.

How long we keep data

• Account data stays until you close the account.
• A profile stays while it is online and is deleted when it is removed, unless a complaint about it is still open or the law requires us to keep it.
• Verification data is kept only as long as the check and any open complaint about the profile require.
• Messages to our manager are kept only as long as they are needed to arrange and follow up the meeting.
• A review stays on the profile until it or the profile is removed.
• Technical records of visits are kept only as long as they are needed for security.

How we protect it

The site works over an encrypted connection. Passwords are stored in hashed form, so no one, including our team, can read them. Identity documents and verification videos are never published, and only our team can see them. No online system is completely secure, and if a breach affects your data, we will tell you through the contact linked to your account.

Your rights and how to use them

You can ask us what personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it and ask us to delete it. You can close your account yourself in the Settings of My space. A woman can ask for her profile to be removed at any time.

Send your request through the contact page or Request removal. We may ask you to confirm that the data is yours before we act, so that no one can change or remove someone else's data. After a profile is removed, search engines may still show an old copy for a while; their copies update over time.

People under 18

The site is not for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If we learn that data belongs to someone under 18, we delete it and close the related account or profile.

Changes to this policy

When this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. The updated policy applies from that date.
